Ok so I feel like expressing my feeling regarding some issues relavent to the upcoming election. I was looking through stuff on facebook and some of the political groups made me mad so I thought I'll start sharing my thoughts on issues. Give me feedback on what I write and I would love to get your opinion, thoughts, feelings, etc. on these issues.

My first topic-Farm Subsidies (Agriculture is very important for all of us- "Where would you be without agriculture and forestry? - Skinny, Naked, Hungry, and Homeless")

This is my respose to those who are saying that Farm Subsidies are a bad thing for America because to much money gets "given" to farms (whether a big company or a family farm) and we are hurting poorer, less developed countries because we are not importing the food they are producing. THIS NOTE GOES SPECIFICALLY TO THOSE WHO ARE JOINING THE "END FARM SUBSIDIES" GROUPS

DO YOU REALIZE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN WITHOUT SUBSIDIES?...The cost of food for everyone would skyrocket out of control, we still wouldn't be helping those poor countries...why-because we have the FDA and UDSA, two very important organizations that do everything they can to assure that the food supply for America is kept up with demand and they do everything they can to keep food supplies safe for consumption (think about all the recent E. coli scares). We wouldn't start importing food from these countries for two reasons-there is no way to assure that the food is safe for consumption and it would cost way to much. Farm subsidies are necessary to keep a constant flow of safe, cheap food for Americans to eat.

Show support for America and US Farms and Farmers-research the options for such political positions as State Commissioners of Agriculture and vote for the person you feel is best suited for the job--it really is just as important, if not more so, as who will be the next Governor or Mayor.
